UNION COUNTY, N.C. —
State troopers said they have found the car of a missing South Carolina woman.
According to officials, a car found in a ditch Monday afternoon belonged to 26-year-old Ashley Nicole Reynolds of Coward, S.C.
Her husband identified her.
Reynolds had a six-month-old child.
Reynolds' brother-in-law said she and her husband drove up from South Carolina a few days ago. According to him, the couple got into an argument in Pageland. She left in one direction, her husband left in another.
Detectives called him Monday morning to ask him to identify the woman's body they had found.
Officials said she drove up to Union County from the town near Florence Saturday evening. She never made it to her friend’s home in Marshville.
She was reported missing over the weekend and detectives started searching for her.
Rescue and recovery crews are still working to pull the car, a Chevy Cavalier, out of the ditch on Austin Grove Road.
Officials said they think speed was a factor in the accident. They also said she was not wearing a seat belt.
