Aiken County, SC (WLTX) -- Officials say a woman was killed Wednesday afternoon after three cars collided on Pine Log Road in Aiken.
As of 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, officials with the Aiken County Coroner's Office had not released the identity of the woman who died.
According to Cpl. Bob Beres with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 4:10 p.m. when a 2010 Buick SUV driven by 51-year-old Susan Lockhart of Aiken collided with a 1995 Oldsmobile minivan driven by 42-year-old Ricky Cunningham that was travelling ahead of the Buick.
Beres said both the Buick and Oldsmobile were travelling northbound when they collided.
According to Highway Patrol troopers, the Oldsmobile crossed the center line and collided with a 2002 F-150 pickup truck driven by 36-year-old Carlton Fogg of Jackson that was travelling southbound. Officials say that's when the pickup truck traveled off of the right side of the roadway and collided with a female pedestrian, killing her at the scene.
Beres said a passenger was traveling in the SUV, but was not injured. All of those who were traveling in vehicles during the collision were wearing seat belts, Beres said.
Beres said troopers the accident remains under investigation.
