Charleston County sheriff's deputies closed off Fife Street in West Ashley after a woman was found stabbed to death in a residence on the street.

A woman was found stabbed to death in a residence in West Ashley Friday, the victim of an apparent domestic dispute.

Charleston County sheriff's deputies were called to a house at 2103 Fife Lane in the Forest Lakes subdivision about 4:15 p.m. for a reported stabbing, sheriff's Maj. Jim Brady said. When they arrived, deputies found a female who had been stabbed to death.

Her suspected attacker, Chesley Black Jr., a 30-year-old white male, is thought to have fled the area and may have a 2-year-old child with him, Brady said. He may be driving a black, four-door, 2010 Nissan Altima with a S.C. license plate of EPY-454, Brady said.

There was no indication that Black was armed, but he should be considered dangerous in view of the stabbing he is alleged to have committed.

The Charleston County Coroner's Office has not yet released the victim's identity. Brady would not say if the two were married.
